Headless Horseman Update

Update summary (Oct 24, 2026): Released by WoozyNate. New code added: ChapelTroubles (Rewards (requires Level 25)).

Headless Horseman

  • A familiar headless figure has taken up refuge outside the chapel, seeking an intrepid angler brave enough to venture inside and resolve his predicament.

  • Face erratic light shows and timing trials within the chapel to recover something precious that was left behind in the chaos.

  • Demonstrate your casting precision during active light flashes to stabilize the volatile energy lingering inside the structure.

  • Prove your Halloween expertise...

Baby Nessie Companion

  • The Headless Horseman's companion!

  • Grants a bonus to FischFright mutation chances

  • Grants dynamic progress speed boosts scaling inversely with fish size and directly with resilience

  • Scales passives up during nighttime hours and dampens them slightly during the day

Astral Observatory Telescope Overhaul

  • The telescope has received a complete interface overhaul, featuring a brand-new dedicated UI alongside unique FX when activating anomalies.

  • Streamlined energy management: different anomalies now consume varying amounts of charge, and recharging requires individual charges using Enchant Relics rather than maxing out at once.

  • Inventory management updates: lenses and batteries are no longer physical inventory items and are now handled automatically directly through the telescope UI.

  • Introduced the new Astral Activator item, enabling remote telescope activation from anywhere on the map (excluding lens swapping and recharging).

  • Adjusted battery crafting recipes and buffed the Celestial Congregation event.

New Base Leaderboard

  • A brand-new customizable leaderboard system has been introduced to the game.

  • Track expanded player statistics and milestones, including detailed bestiary completion progress and personal achievements.

  • Collect badges & more; with plenty more to come!

New Aquarium Layouts & Improvements

  • New aquarium layout options are now available for purchase:

    • Tranquil

    • Auction House

    • Skydock

    • Music Venue

  • Shelves, tables, and similar furniture are now functional, allowing other furniture to be placed on top of them!

  • When switching layouts, instead of fully clearing all your furniture, your layout is now saved and will be restored if you switch back.

  • Reduced the hitbox size of certain furniture.

Bugfixes & Quality of Life

  • Improved visibility during all Astral Anomalies

  • Private server owners, and the person who spawned the current anomaly, can now override them

  • Replaced the Season 4 Crew Reward skin, and moved it to Igneous Rupturer

  • Fixed various issues with Controller navigation

Balancing Changes

Goblin Quests

  • Removed the "Human Calculator (Ultimate)" Quest

  • Frightful Catches (Ultimate): Catch 20 -> 10 unique FischFright fish

  • Flimsy Catches (Ultimate): Removed "in a row" requirement

  • Perfection (Ultimate): 100 -> 75 Perfect Catches

  • Goblin Quests now guarantee an extra ingredient with a Hex Energy level corresponding to difficulty

Witch Kitty

  • Now grants ~3.33% chance for Vile, Grim, and Doomed mutations (10% total)

  • Now occasionally meows (audible from a very long distance) and has a highlight after spawning

Frightful Pools

  • Every pool now has its own respective mutation at a 5% Chance

  • Jagged Bone now prefers Magnet bait

  • Adjusted Eldritch Skull Progress Speed (-95% → -85%)

  • While catching any Frightful Skull, keeping the fish on the bar now reduces the speed of stat loss by 25%

Misc.

  • Added natural catch & appraisal chances for Pumpkin, Webbed, Grim, Vile, Doomed, Eldritch, Jack-o', and Corn mutations

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a softlock when equipping Nico's Yarncaster with the Witchico skin

  • Fixed a rare bug causing a level 1000 requirement to apply to Nate's Blade even if you did the quest normally

  • Fixed a bug where the Frightful Ghost would cause a softlock when using Bellona's Waraxe

  • Fixed a bug where the Mystic Mirror would be permanently disabled after exiting the Phantasmal Area via teleportation

  • Added the missing quest indicator for Doomsekkar

  • Improved the holding animations and positioning of several new items and fish

  • Fixed a bug where Plush Nessies obtained from Frightful Caskets would not count towards certain quests

FischFright 3 has Arrived

  • Head to the Flying Dutchman to find your way to the Caustic Hallow; and bring a friend!

  • Earn a new currency called Treats by selling event catches, completing quests, or Trick or Treating!

  • Visit Beatrix the Witch at her tree within the Caustic Hallow and feed her cauldron with rare Witch's Ingredients dropped by goblins!

  • Raise your Hex Energy to progress through multiple Hex Stages, unlocking a massive array of sequential event rewards, bobbers, lanterns, furniture, and titles!

Frightful Pools & Skulls

  • Encounter temporary Frightful Pools spawning across the ocean that alter your control while rewarding extra Treats!

  • Fish up dedicated Frightful Skulls and rare Relics from matching pools!
