There are a total of twelve classes in Roblox Dead Rails, each with unique abilities and playstyles. You'll need to get some wins and save up Bonds to unlock them all, so you might be wondering which classes are the best in Dead Rails.
Dead Rails Classes Tier List
S | Vampire, Survivalist |
A | Cowboy, Ironclad |
B | High Roller, Conductor, Doctor, Arsonist, Priest |
C | The Alamo, Miner, Zombie |
Spoiler alert: the best class is the one you like to play! We don't recommend relying on tier lists to make your decisions, but this is generally how the community currently views the class rankings.
Vampire
Cost: 75 Bonds
In a recent update, the Vampire got a buff, making it the best class in the game alongside the Survivalist. It can run faster than a horse and deal 40 damage per hit with a knife. The only downside is you get damaged while in the sun. Buy some bandages so you can heal up.

Survivalist
Cost: 75 Bonds
Survivalist spawns with the Tomahawk, but you might want to sell it and pick up more ammo. The class deals extra damage when you lose health, which is currently very overpowered. Using a rifle, you can take down a werewolf in a couple of headshots or kill a zombie in one shot, making it an S-Tier class.

Cowboy
Cost: 50 Bonds
The Cowboy spawns into the game with a horse, a revolver, and two ammo boxes. You can pick up more ammo boxes and coal with your remaining cash. It's a classic character designed for some zombie killing, so you can't go wrong with the Cowboy.

Ironclad
Cost: 100 Bonds
Ironclad starts with Armor, giving this class high survivability while simultaneously slowing down its movement speed. It's a solid class, especially if you can pick up a horse to negate the speed debuff.

High Roller
Cost: 50 Bonds
The High Roller can sell things for a higher price than other classes. You can easily pick up a rifle and some coal at the start of the game. However, you'll probably get struck by lightning. Regardless, it's a decent class.

Conductor
Cost: 50 Bonds
The Conductor is a support class that spawns with 2 Coal. One major benefit of this class is the ability to drive the train faster than other classes. It's a solid support class but only has half the normal health you would with any other character. Proceed with caution.

Doctor
Cost: 15 Bonds
The Doctor class has healing items and can revive players. It's an inexpensive class to purchase, like the Miner, and it's an overall mediocre character that excels a bit when playing with teammates.

Arsonist
Cost: 20 Bonds
Arsonist spawns with 4 Molotovs, and that's about it. On the upside, this is a cheap class to unlock, and the Molotovs can be fun to use on zombies, but it's tough to use efficiently.

Priest
Cost: 75 Bonds
Priest spawns with 2 Crucifixes and Holy Waters. The Holy Water comes in handy and can be used to clear out a lot of zombies at the same time. The Priest is also immune to lightning, which helps with a particular boss.

The Alamo
Cost: 50 Bonds
Alamo spawns with a helmet, 3 Metal Sheets, and 3 Barbed Wire. You can use your materials to build some protection and survive through the night. High survivability is good, but it's not a great class after you use the starting materials.

Miner
Cost: 15 Bonds
The Miner spawns with 2 coal and a pickaxe, allowing you to drive to the next town and purchase a gun. Once you use the coal, though, there's not much else left in the Miner's arsenal. Maybe you're a fan of pickaxes, in which case, you can spend 15 Bonds and play the Miner.

Zombie
Cost: 75 Bonds
Zombie is perhaps the worst class in the game at the time of writing simply because it costs too much and doesn't do much of anything. The Zombie can eat dead bodies to regain health, but can't use regular healing items. It can sneak around zombies better than other classes, but that's about it.
